Welcome to Cherkovo village
Cherkovo is a small village set in rolling countryside in South Eastern Bulgaria located in the Municipality of Karnobat, Bourgas district.
The village has a long history and has seen many changes. The ancient village had an original name of Duvalare until the modern village was founded by settlers who came from several villages in the Chirpan area of Bulgaria.
Many of the 200 residents who currently live in Cherkovo are descendents of those original settlers.
Cherkovo is renowned for the quality of garlic, onions and grapes grown in the fertile black soil which blankets the valley in which the village lies.
