He had invited the English residents of Cherkovo to meet him to discuss matters pertaining to the village, and possible future improvements to the local infrastructure. The meeting was most illuminating, with the Mayor outlining his plans both for the village and the entire Karnobat area and its 30,000 residents. The Mayor is to despatch a team of engineers to the village to prepare a report with regard to the problem with ground water drainage experienced by several residents.
He is aware of the improvements that many residents would like to see for the area, and whilst they are already in his plans, he explained that it will take time for all to be completed. The English contingent was impressed by the Mayors hospitality, openness and welcoming stance towards new settlers in his region.
